Steps
for installing Internet Trading Software POINTER
A Installation the pointer.exe for Windows 2000 & XP
1) Click on http://www.ventura1.com/download/pointer/internet/pointer.exe
2) Save file on your hard disk.
3) Run the file to install the
software
4) Shortcut of the software would be
created on users desktop automatically.
5)
Double click on to log on.
B. Installing the pointer.exe for
Windows 98
- Click on the following link http://www.ventura1.com/download/pointer/internet/pointer.exe for installing the Pointer.exe.
- Click on the following link http://www.ventura1.com/download/pointer/dsclient.exe
for installing the Dsclient.exe.
- Popup box would appear asking to
save the files. Kindly save the files on your hard disk.
- Run Dsclient.exe & restart the system.
- Post restart Run Pointer.exe.
- Shortcut of the software would
be created on desktop automatically.
- Double click that pointer icon.
- Login screen would appear.
C Login
1) Select ISP1 – SERVER ONE.
2) Enter Login id, Password & Pin. Click Login.
(User would be requested to change the password and pin on the first login.)
Go to Settings ►Change Password.
Input old password, new password & new
pin as desired. (Password & Pin should be alphanumeric, minimum of 8
characters & different from each other.)
E Setting up Market Watch
Menu Option Market ► Market Watch or F4. Predefined set of groups are available for the user. User can also create his own set of
groups. Cash & F&O scrips can be added in the
same window.
1) To create a User defined group - Select any stock watch from the predefined group ►Right click
on the stock watch ►Remove All.
To add
equity scrips - Right click ►Add
Scrip ►Select Exchange ►Enter Scrip code of Scrip name ►Click Ok.
To add
FNO scrips - Right click ►Add
F&O Scrip ►Select Scrip, Expiry
& Instrument ►Click Show ►Click Select All ►Click
Add & Quit.
To save
the user defined group – Right click ►Save
to group ►Give a name ►Click Add.
To delete any scrip Press ‘
On
the next login to get the user defined stock watch Press F4 ►Select User
defined ►Select the saved group.
F Market depth &
Share Price chart window
By clicking on any scrip Market depth (Best five
Bid/Offers) & Share
Price Chart window would appear.
G Placing Orders in
Equity
To place Buy Order –
1) Press F1 Key. This will open
the Place Order Window with data on the currently highlighted scrip from the
Market Watch Window.
2)
User
can change the scrip also at this stage by entering another symbol.
3)
User
has to enter the quantity and specify whether it is a limit or market order.
For Limit orders, one has to enter the limit price. If Disclosed Quantity is
entered it has to be at least 10% of ordered quantity. User also has option of
entering the order as IOC order.
4)
Once
user clicks on ‘Place’ button, he will be shown another window with the details
of his order. Order will be sent for processing only when the user clicks on
the ‘Confirm’ button in this window.
To place Sell Order –
Press F2 Key. Rest of the
operations are similar to placing a Buy Order.
Details
of Order number and Trade number of any order placed would be shown in the Left
bottom window “Order /Trade Confirmation”
H Placing Orders in
F&O
To place Buy Order –
1) Similar to Cash Market, to place an
order in F&O market, select the scrip in market watch window and Press F1
Key. This will open the Place Order Window as shown above.
2) User
can change the scrip at this stage by entering another symbol.
3) User has to enter the quantity and limit price. User also has to
option of entering the order as IOC order. Quantity will be accepted only in
increments of market lot.
4) Once user clicks on ‘Place’ button, he will be shown another window
with the details of his order. Order will be sent for processing only when the
user clicks on the ‘Confirm’ button in this window.
To place Sell Order –
Press F2 Key. Rest of the
operations are similar to placing a Buy Order.
I Pending Orders / Trades / Net Position window
Orders
Press F3 key
or Menu option Reports ►Orders.
All the Orders placed are shown in
the Order Book. User can filter the data shown on the following:

All
b.
Pending
c.
Partly
Executed
d.
Fully
Executed
e.
Cancelled
f.
Frozen
Trades
Executed orders are shown in Trade
Book in the Trades Tab. Each trade is show as a separate record.
Net
Positions
Net Positions Tab shows the
aggregate data for particular scrip. In a single row the qty bought/ sold, the average price at which it was bought/ sold and the
net position in that scrip is displayed.
Modifying an Order
Orders which are not executed can be
modified from the Order Book Window. User has to select the row, which has the
pending order and click the ‘Modify’ button. This will open the Place Order
window. Here the user can modify the quantity and price, change a market order
to limit order or vice versa and change the disclosed quantity.
User has to click on ‘Place’ button
and a confirmation box will be opened showing the details of the Order. Order
will be sent for further processing only after user clicks on ‘Confirm’ button
Cancelling an Order
To cancel an order, user has to
follow the steps as in Modifying an order. Instead of
clicking on Modify Button in the Order Book Window, user has to click on
‘Cancel’ button. This will open a confirmation box where the user has to click
‘Confirm’ button to confirm his action
To Square Off Positions
User has to access Market ► Reports and access the Net Positions tab. User has to
select the row containing the position which he wishes to square off and click
on the ‘Square Off’ button. This will open the Place Order Window with the
Symbol, quantity and rate, populated. On confirming the square off order in the
confirmation box it will be sent for processing.
Holdings
Holdings tab would show Users
holding Equity & F&O positions with Ventura Sec. Ltd.
J Software Features
1)
Market
Watch Window can be resized & sorted as desired. Columns can be added as
well as deleted.
2) Scrip Fundamental data
Right click any Equity Scrip ► Fundamentals
► Select anything from Latest
Results, News, Background, Price History, Quarterly results, Profit & Loss,
Balance Sheet, Financial Ratios, Capital History, Major Products, Major Raw
Material, Director.
3) Share Price Chart
Additional study can be added to the chart – Right
click ►Select anything from Zoom/
Unzoom, Print chart to EMF file, Save chart, Load
chart, Add study, Modify Study, Delete Study, Tick Listing (Every trade price),
Intraday barsize.

Other features are

Window. User can customize it by giving quantity & value. All scrips trading at same or higher quantity or value would be
shown in this window.
